Displaced Missionaries!!! April 24, 2006
This past weekend has been one of the most interesting which we have ever had to date. We started off our meeting for the weekend by realizing that we had left all of our dress clothes at home. Next, I realized that all of my sermon notes were on my desk at home as well. Then on the way I came down with the flu and then so did Ashley. What a weekend. Despite all of that, our meeting was a very encouraging meeting and we were very much blessed by the heart and ministry of the church family. When we came home, we were ready to crash! We had agreed that we would grab the kids, lay them down to sleep, and then hit the pillows ourselves. That was not to be the case. When Ashley opened the door to the house, she was greeted by cascading waterfalls streaming from the ceiling. While we were away the water supply line leading to the toilet burst. There was standing water on the upstairs, downstairs, and basement. We have, unfortunately, lost much of our belongings. One of the main loses was that of a laptop, which had water pouring on top of it when we came into the house. It was especially difficult because Ashley’s Pampered Chef data was on it. Currently, there is now a team of men working on the house. The entire house must be gutted to the bare frame. Ceilings, floors, and walls all have to be ripped out and replaced. Please keep our family in your prayers during this trying time! Thank you to the many of you who have been calling to let us know that you have been praying for us. Below are photos which I was able to take before they began tearing the house appart.
