Dear Brother and Sister in Christ,

As you may or may not know, my family and I are Missionaries to Brazil, South America to be involved in evangelism and starting new churches for Christ’s sake.  We are looking for churches and individuals who are interested in partnering with our ministry through prayer and financial support.  I wish I could come and personally share with you about our ministry and let you see for yourself the need for new churches in Brazil.  But for now, I hope this letter will suffice.

The Lord has called my wife and me to plant Bible - believing churches in metropolitan Sao Paulo, Brazil. Sao Paulo, which has approximately 28 million people, is one of the world’s fastest growing metropolitan centers. Sao Paulo grows at an estimated rate of 1,000 people per day, or approximately 1 million every three years. The Catholic Church is deeply rooted in the lives and culture of the Brazilian people; an astounding 90% of the population claims the Catholic faith of which an estimated 40% of them are spiritists. The ratio of Gospel-preaching churches to this massive metropolitan population is extremely low.

A relatively young group of people makes up a large segment of the population in Brazil. The streets are often crowded with children that have been either abandoned or are orphans. They often live forgotten amidst the poverty - stricken slum communities. Through establishing local churches, we will also seek to win and minister to this core group through orphanage ministries, youth ministries, camp ministries, and Bible education programs. I am excited about what God is going to do!

My wife and I finished our training at Northland Baptist Bible College in May of 2002. Throughout our college years, my wife and I served in various ministries at NBBC and at Family Baptist Church.  Currently we are serving and helping local church ministries in Northern Kentucky, when we are not on the road. Baptist Pioneer Missions is our sending missions agency.  We will be partnering with Jeff and Becky Thibaudeau, missionaries for almost 20 years in Brazil.  We are firm believers in team missions and look forward to beginning our ministry with such proficient and veteran missionaries!

We need your partnership.  Brazil is a field ready for the harvest. The people are lost, blind, lonely and broken. They are starving for the Bread of Life and Spring of Living Water, which is Jesus Christ. If  the Lord leads, it would be our privilege and honor for you to partner with us for the cause of Christ in Brazil.

If a person took upon himself the task of planting one church every day to reach the 1,000 new people, he would still never reach the already existing 28 million people.

We would like to extend to you the opportunity to become personally involved with us by becoming a monthly supporter of our  ministry in reaching the eternal souls of the Brazilian people. Currently we have obtained over 84% of our needed monthly support commitment and need only $600/month more.  Would you please diligently pray and seek the Lord’s face as to what He may have you do in monthly investing in the souls of Brazil? We are often so quick, and without second thought, willing to sign up for cable, phone, and internet, or willing to lease a newer car and  rent a home, thus making a monthly commitment to a secular entity.  However, Christians suddenly become cautious about making a monthly commitment to invest into an eternal soul.  When we “seek first the kingdom of God” and elevate the cause of missions to supremacy, then echoes the Apostle Paul’s words, “my God shall supply all your needs.”  Am I espousing a “health and wealth message?” No! I will say this, however, God honors the man that honors missions.  Missions is at the center of the heart of God because it brings glory to His Son, Jesus Christ.

Secondly, let me reassure you that if the Lord lays it upon your heart to partner with our family, don’t be discouraged from doing what you are able, regardless of how much or little you are able to commit to.  Remember that it was the widow’s mite that caught the eye of our Lord.  The great commission is not comprised of big shots, but simply little shots who keep shooting.  We have families who support our ministry for anywhere from $10/month to $200/month.  If you are simply faithful in what God has entrusted you to do, then, as with the servants of the talents, God will be pleased.

Thank you for pausing to consider our burden and passion.  We are very excited about what the Lord can do in Brazil and wanted to give you the opportunity to be a part of that work.  If you believe that the Lord would have you join us in reaching Brazilian souls for Christ, there are two ways you can become engaged in supporting this ministry.

Regardless of how God leads you regarding financial support, we beg you to pray for our family.
