Mother's Day Conference

This past mother’s day I was asked to be the guest speaker at a lady’s banquet at Grace Baptist in New Castle IN. I was to share my testimony and incorporate the topic of aprons as well. I received this call on Saturday and spoke on Monday. There was not much time to prepare so I knew the Lord would have to perform some miracle overnight for me. On top of the time crunch the whole family was down with the stomach flu, so that added a fun twist to everything. Well despite all the surrounding circumstances we arrived Monday night on time. While Bryanna and I went into the church the rest of my family stayed in the car and waited for us. Poor Paul had such a high fever that night. I knew that the Lord was going to have to give the peace of mind that I needed in order to be a blessing to these ladies.
The night went well, everything was beautiful and the food was great. I divided my testimony into three different kinds of aprons: first the woman that does not wear an apron which represented an unsaved mother, a half apron which is a Christian mother but she often times attempts to raise her children and govern her home in her own strength instead of the Lord’s and lastly the full size apron which is a mother who builds her home on Biblical principles and fully surrenders her life to Christ. I believe that the Lord received the glory that night even though I was so weak. This was a strong reminder that God does not need only our strengths but also our weaknesses.
